Aranya : A calm urban retreat

Celebrating a deep love for wildlife, Aranya is a serene urban home where nature and design coexist harmoniously. Rooted in Wabi-Sabi philosophy, the interiors are minimalist yet tactile, with wood, cane, and stone bringing warmth and texture, while a neutral palette reinforces calm, cohesion, and timelessness.

A continuous, hand-applied wall texture flows across walls and ceilings, forming a seamless architectural envelope. Fixed furniture is finished to blend with this backdrop, allowing the architecture to breathe. Softly curved corners, arches, and circular forms guide movement and create a fluid, organic rhythm throughout the home. Subtle biophilic touches-including wildlife- and tropical-inspired feature walls-bring the outdoors in, reflecting the clients’ passion for nature.

The living and dining areas unfold as a single, flowing volume. Wooden ceiling battens define the living zone, while a live-edge dining table anchors the dining space, echoed in the adjoining bar. A bespoke fish installation above the console adds movement, while natural-material lighting-including a statement pendant and banana fibre fixture-infuses warmth. Balconies at either end open the interiors to lush green views, extending the home seamlessly into nature.

The kitchen, in a soft brown palette, complements the earthy aesthetic while maintaining clean lines and functional elegance.

The master bedroom is a tranquil sanctuary, anchored by a life-sized sandstone headboard. Neutral tones and layered textures cocoon the space, with an adjoining bathtub area creating a spa-like retreat.

The children’s bedroom features a bespoke wildlife-themed wallpaper as a playful focal point, enhanced by a tropical-inspired palette. The study doubles as a home office for the entrepreneurial couple, with a custom bird-themed wallpaper continuing the biophilic narrative. The guest bedroom introduces arches, reinforcing the home’s sculptural language while creating a welcoming, organic backdrop.
